5/5/15 Florida Supreme Court Oral Arguments – Amendments to Rule Regulating The Florida Bar 4-7.22 Lawyer Referral Services SC14-2126
In this proposed change to the rules regulating attorney conduct, additional restrictions are placed upon lawyers who take referrals from referral services. Examples of the proposed additions to the existing rule: lawyers would not be allowed to accept referrals from referral services that have misleading names or that fail to tell customers where the lawyer they are being referred to has an office. Also, lawyers would not be allowed to take referrals from a referral service that, in exchange for the referral, either requires or pressures lawyers to refer clients to another professional.
