In 2005, The Florida Channel began providing closed captioning of its 24/7 television feed, and in 2012, began displaying closed captioning on its 24/7 Internet feed.

In April 2022, The Florida Channel began captioning all live streams and programming in its video library through AI technology. Quality audio is necessary for AI captioning to be accurate. Background noises (music, crowd noises, AC, etc.), rushed or mumbled speaking, speakers who talk over each other, not speaking directly into a microphone, sharing microphones, or anything in front of or in a speaker’s mouth (gum, pencils/pens, toothpicks) can all impede accurate captions.
