The FLORIDA Channel Education Resource Center is provided as a service to Floridians, educators, and students. Information provided is intended for use in the home and the classroom to assist in educating you about the State of Florida. Other subjects, such as history, science, and biology, are also addressed as they relate to our state.

Florida’s Historical Markers
Florida’s Historical Markers is a production of WFSU-TV/The Florida Channel and is based on the Florida Historical Marker program administered by the Department of State’s Division of Historical Resources. The program recognizes historic resources, persons and events that are significant in the areas of architecture, archaeology, Florida history and traditional culture by promoting the placing of historic markers and plaques at sites of historical and visual interest to visitors.

Great Floridians
The Great Floridians biography is a production of WFSU-TV/The Florida Channel and is based on the Great Floridians program administered by the Department of State’s Division of Historical Resources. The Department of State presents the award annually in recognition of the outstanding achievements of an individual who has made major contributions to the progress and welfare of Florida.
