9/8/20 Florida Supreme Court Oral Arguments: Jermaine Earl v. State of Florida SC19-1506
Earl was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for armed robbery with a firearm and kidnapping to facilitate a felony with a firearm. Earl filed a motion to correct his sentence, claiming it was illegal because the trial court failed to impose a ten-year mandatory minimum. The trial court denied Earl’s motion. The First District Court of Appeal dismissed Earl’s appeal and certified conflict with other appellate court decisions for this Court to review.
