01/26/2009 Florida Crossroads – Willing Workers: Remembering Florida’s Civilian Conservation Corps

The year 2008 marked the 75th anniversary of the creation of the Civilian Conservation Corps. Eight of Florida’s state parks were developed by members of the CCC. In nine years time, Florida’s CCC enrollees constructed more than 3,000 miles of trails and roads, and built more than 2,700 bridges. Florida Crossroads visits several CCC parks, and sits down with surviving CCC members.
