More than a century ago, freed slaves settled the southern part of Saint Augustine and developed it into a thriving black community they named Lincolnville. But through the years, much has changed. Hard economic times forced many to move away, leaving the community full of abandoned homes and businesses. As producer Meredith Moses explains, though a real estate boom in St. John’s County is bringing new life to the area, its not the life this community once knew.
