06/15/2009 Florida Crossroads – The Restoration of Florida’s Historic Capitol
Years of wear and tear almost resulted in the demolition of Florida’s Old Capitol in the 1970s. But a massive restoration project returned the historic structure to the way it looked in 1902. From the trademark red and white striped awnings to the art glass dome, Florida Crossroads follows architect Herschel Shepard, who was in charge of the restoration, on a tour through the columns, halls and doorways of Florida’s Historic Capitol.
