Many people have heard of the state’s current land conservation program, Florida Forever. While it was launched in 2001, efforts to preserve environmentally sensitive land go back much further. In this episode of Florida Crossroads, we’ll review the history of land conservation in Florida, explore how these programs typically work and highlight some of the environmental treasures that have been saved from development.
