Florida has the fastest growing elderly population in the nation. In fact, the number of senior citizens in the state is expected to grow by a half-million in the next decade alone. Many of these older residents will not be healthy enough to enjoy their golden years. In addition, they are faced with navigating a complicated system of private and public health care programs. Florida Crossroads attempts to shed light on some of these health issues and explores some ways seniors can gain control over their health and well-being with a “Prescription for Aging”.
