Off the Beaten Path – Oldest Store Museum
Located in St. Augustine, the Oldest Store Museum presents a living history experience of a general store in 1908. It is a recreation of Hamblen’s Hardware store, created by C.F. Hamblen in the late 19th century, who supplied a lot of materials for Henry Flagler’s railroads. The museum is run by the Historic Tours of America, where visitors can receive a tour from shopkeepers who go through the store’s history while they showcase several goods like a snake oil salesman.
