4/8/15 Florida Supreme Court Oral Arguments – James Robertson v. State, SC13-443

Mr. Robertson pled guilty to the first-degree murder of his cellmate, Frank Hart, who was strangled in 2008. Mr. Robertson waived his right to penalty phase before a jury charged with recommending a sentence. The judge condemned Mr. Robertson to death. This is his direct appeal. Mr. Robertsons appeal attorneys are arguing to this Court the trial judge erred in not appointing an attorney to submit mitigating evidence before Mr. Robertson was sentenced.
