Gulf Islands is one of only 10 National Seashores in the entire United States. The park operates in two different states, Florida and Mississippi and has over 139,000 acres. On this Florida Crossroads, we examine the Florida district located in the Panhandle and the parks history of coastal fortifications and its environmental biodiversity.
