05/22/1997 Florida Crossroads – Future Farming

Agriculture is a $45 billion industry in Florida, but there has been a price to pay.  Fertilizer, animal wastes and pesticides have run off the farm and polluted the lakes, rivers and streams.  In response to pressure from government agencies, environmental groups, and from within the industry itself, farmers are changing the way they do things by developing innovative ways to use less fertilizer, less water and few pesticides.
