Florida Scenic Highways and Byways: Martin Grade

The Martin Grade Scenic Highway, known to locals simply as “The Grade,” runs 12 miles connecting the towns of Okeechobee and Stuart. It is a canopy road whose majesty transports travelers to Old Florida with its deep connection to the Florida Cracker cowboys, the Seminoles, the merchants and tourists who all came to travel and settle around the area.
