Capitol Update – Week Ending 05/15/2026

Capitol Update is a review of state government.  Topics this week focus on:

• The Governor announced that the state had been granted federal approval for a 39-day Atlantic Red Snapper season beginning May 22nd.  
• Lawmakers continued work on the state budget.
• Governor DeSantis signed a bill that would require public officials to receive ethics training on foreign influence.
