Capitol Update is a review of state government.  Topics this week focus on:

  • At a meeting of the Joint Legislative Budget Commission, a request by the Agency for Health Care Administration raised concerns about why a law passed years ago that would expand eligibility for a children’s health insurance program had not yet been implemented.
  • The House and Senate have reached an agreement on top-line budget allocations.
  • Floridians who receive public assistance through the SNAP program to pay for groceries are no longer allowed to use their benefits for soda and certain sugary snacks.
