Capitol Update – Week Ending 02/20/2026

Capitol Update is a review of state government.  Topics this week focus on:

• The Senate passed a bill that would require law enforcement to get more training on interacting with people on the autism spectrum. 
• The House and Senate passed their individual budget proposals.
• The House voted up on a budget conforming bill that would recreate the state’s emergency trust fund with new checks-and-balances.
