Capitol Update – Week Ending 02/13/2026

Capitol Update is a review of state government.  Topics this week focus on:

• After a record-breaking 19 executions last year, Florida performed its first of 2026.
• After a week-long delay, the House and Senate released their budget proposals for Fiscal Year ’26-’27. 
• The full Senate passed a bill that would reinstate Florida’s Emergency Preparedness and Response Fund until December 2027.
