Capitol Update – Week Ending 01/31/2025

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  This week’s topics include:   

• The Legislature voted to override last year’s veto of its operating expenses budget.
• The Florida Legislature convened in a Special Session called by Governor DeSantis, then adjourned and convened Special Session B with their own agenda.
• The House and Senate approved a package of illegal immigration reforms which the Governor said he will veto.
