Capitol Update – Week Ending 01/03/2025

This New Year edition of Capitol Update reviews Legislative action so far leading up to the 2025 session in March. Topics include:   

• The new Senate President and Speaker of the House outlined priorities, including plans to rein in state spending.
• The House Speaker hosted “Legislator University” to educate freshmen on how the Legislature operates and update all Representatives on new House rules.
• The Senate held mandatory ethics training sessions.
