Capitol Update – Week Ending 11/22/2024

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  This week’s topics include:   

• The House and Senate convened at the Capitol for Organization Session, swearing in members and approving procedural rules for the 2025 session.

• New Senate President Ben Albritton said he intends to ride herd on property insurance companies.  New House Speaker Daniel Perez said he wants to rein in state spending.

• We take you inside a historic home for sale in Tallahassee that belonged to Governor William Bloxham who served as Governor from 1881 to 1885 and again from 1897 to 1901.
