Capitol Update – Week Ending 06/21/2024

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  This week’s topics include:   

• The Florida Supreme Court ruled that observers and peaceful protesters in the same area as rioters can’t be charged with crimes just for being there.
• The Governor signed bills designed to help veterans, including one that will allow military spouses to live in veterans’ retirement homes with their veteran husband or wife.
• The Governor announced that July 14 will be an extra day in the spiny lobster mini-season, for Florida residents only.
