Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  This week’s topics include:   

  • A judge ordered state economists to write a new financial impact statement that will go on the ballot with the proposed constitutional amendment on abortion rights, saying it was written before the Florida Supreme Court upheld Florida’s current abortion law.
  • The Florida High School Athletic Association voted to allow student athletes to profit from their name, image or likeness.
  • The Governor announced that he’s awarding the Governor’s Medal of Merit to all surviving Floridians who participated in the D-Day invasion in World War II.
