Capitol Update – Week Ending 10/13/2023

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  This week’s topics include:     

• The Governor declared a state of emergency in Florida because of the crisis in Israel.
• Florida’s Insurance Commissioner told a Senate committee that some of the big national insurance companies may be coming back to Florida’s property insurance market.
• The Florida Geological Survey gave hundreds of kids and grown-ups a hands-on tour of its collection.
