Capitol Update – Week Ending 08/12/2022

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  Topics this week include:   

• Florida students started heading back to class facing a shortage of teachers and bus drivers.
• The Agency for Health Care Administration finalized a rule that eliminates Medicaid coverage for gender affirming care.  It takes effect August 21.
• State-back Citizens Property Insurance reached the milestone of one million policies – increasing the risk of greater liability to the state.
