Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  Topics this week include:   

• Education Commissioner Manny Diaz told schools to ignore new federal guidelines that include discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation in Title IX.
• The jury in the death penalty trial of the Parkland school shooter saw social media posts showing the killer spent months contemplating and planning the attack.
• The Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services is sending flyers to gun owners urging them to store guns safely so children can’t get them.
