Governor Ron DeSantis signed bills that provide educational and career benefits to service members and veterans, but vetoed SB 2508 which would have modified water management in South Florida.
The Public Service Commission rejected a request by Environmental Utilities to replace septic systems with sewer lines in Little Gasparilla and other barrier islands, agreeing with more than a thousand residents who said installing sewers would wreck the natural beauty of the islands and kill wildlife.
