Capitol Update – Week Ending 02/19/2021

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  Topics this week include:  

• As the focus to vaccinate seniors against COVID-19 continued, lawmakers held their last committee week before the start of the 2021 legislative session.

• Despite a smooth 2020 election, the Governor and Republican lawmakers are pushing to put more ballot restrictions in place.

• A Senate bill to apply greater penalties to crimes targeting the transgender community is taking a different legislative route than originally proposed.
