Capitol Update – Week Ending 12/18/2020

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  Topics this week include:

• The first batches of COVID-19 vaccine reached some hospitals and nursing homes.
• Governor Ron DeSantis said Florida will remain open for business, as the unemployment rate held steady at 6.4%.
• The Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission finalized closure of Apalachicola Bay to wild oyster harvesting, but said they hope to be flexible on the number of years the restoration effort will take.
