• The latest federal and state government action on water releases from Lake Okeechobee and the threat of more algae blooms downstream.
• The Marjory Stoneman Douglas Public Safety Commission met for three days in South Florida, focusing on gaps in mental health care and emergency communications.
• The Florida Public Service Commission authorized creation of a new area code – 689 – because available phone numbers in the 407 area code are running out.
