Capitol Update is daily review of state government during the Legislative Session. Today’s topics include:
The House passed a bill designed to crack down on social media companies that deplatform or censor political candidates.
A charter school bill ping-ponged between the House and Senate several times, with efforts to amend it to include provisions from other bills – including a bill imposing term limits on local school board members and another that bans transgender students from playing on girls’ teams.
The Senate Democratic Caucus erupted in turmoil, resulting in the resignation of Senator Gary Farmer as Minority Leader.
