Capitol Update – Nightly During Session – Friday, January 12, 2018

Capitol Update is a weekly review of state government.  Topics this week include:

• Governor Rick Scott outlined priorities for the Legislative session in his final State of the State Address.
• In his opening day address, Senate President Joe Negron called for passage of Senate Bill 4, a higher education funding bill, which the full Senate voted to approve Thursday.
• House Speaker Richard Corcoran called on Representatives to hold the line against any form of tax increases.
