8/13/25 Capitol Update Extended – Attorney General Issues Rule Cracking Down on Kratom

Attorney General James Uthmeier issued an emergency rule outlawing the sale of a product made from kratom and sold in smoke shops and other stores in Florida that some people use for pain relief. They were joined by the FDA Commissioner who believes the rule could prevent another opioid epidemic.
