8/11/25 Capitol Update Extended – Hearing on FPL Rate Increase Put on Hold Amid Potential Settlement

The Public Service Commission suspended a hearing on a request by Florida Power & Light to raise rates after the company said it was working on a settlement agreement with ten parties involved in the case. Two parties representing consumer groups and the state Office of Public Counsel, which represents ratepayers, have not signed on to the deal.
