7/14/26 Capitol Update Extended: Researchers Begin Mapping Miles of Underwater Cave

With the help of a robot, researchers are mapping Wakulla Springs’ cave system. Rep. Jason Shoaf helped secure a $2.5 million state grant for the project. The idea is to provide more information to policymakers in making land use and other key decisions that affect the environment and water supply.
