6/4/25 Capitol Update Extended – Board of Governors Votes Down UF’s Presidential Pick

The Board of Governors for the State University System has rejected the University of Florida’s unanimous choice to lead the school as its next president. They voted against Santa Ono, who most recently served as president at the University of Michigan, 10-6.
