6/22/20 Second Judicial Circuit Court Hearing on Unemployment Compensation

This hearing is to consider motions to dismiss a lawsuit brought by 19 people who have faced difficulty in applying for unemployment compensation from the state. Plaintiffs allege the unemployment system, designed and built by Deloitte Consulting and administered by the Department of Economic Opportunity, is defective and that DEO is violating state law by not providing benefits in a timely manner. The department argues that it is processing claims and improvements to the system are ongoing.
