5/26/26 Capitol Update Extended: Budget Chairs Approve Transfer of USF Sarasota-Manatee to New College of Florida

As part of the budget negotiation process, lawmakers approved a deal that would transfer all assets belonging to the University of South Florida’s Sarasota-Manatee campus to New College of Florida. New College would assume all debt belonging to USF Sarasota-Manatee by December 31.
