5/16/24 Capitol Update Extended – State Awards Grants to Restore Abandoned African American Cemeteries

The Florida Department of State is awarding nearly $656,000 to groups to restore or protect 15 abandoned African-American cemeteries across Florida.  The money will be used to clean up the burial grounds, repair or replace headstones and search for forgotten gravesites and human remains.
