5/13/25 Capitol Update Extended – Efforts to Move the State Capital Launched Longtime Tallahassee Tradition

In the 1960s, some lawmakers made a push to move the state capital to Orlando. In response, a group in Tallahassee started the Springtime Tallahassee parade, a tradition organizers say highlights the beauty of the capital city and the hospitality of the community to this day.
