4/16/26 Capitol Update Extended – Florida Supreme Court Selects Justice John Couriel as Next Chief Justice

Justice Couriel’s two-year tenure as chief justice will begin July 1. He will succeed Chief Justice Carlos G. Muñiz, who will remain on the court after he finishes his second term as chief justice on June 30.
