3/27/26 Capitol Update Extended – Fire Destroys 16 Homes and Forest Service Anticipates More Fires

A wildfire in Calhoun County destroyed 16 homes and scorched 500 acres. Forest Service rangers say more fires like that could be ahead around the state with extremely dry conditions at the height of fire season.
