11/6/24 Capitol Update Extended – FWC Works on Guidelines to Protect the Burrowing Owl

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is considering guidelines that would protect the burrowing owl and their habitat while streamlining and clarifying development criteria in those areas. The fine for killing an owl or destroying a burrow runs $500 and is a third degree felony.
