11/4/25 Florida Supreme Court Oral Arguments: Dane Patrick Abdool v. State of Florida SC2023-0967

A jury found Dane Abdool guilty for the 2006 murder of Ameilia Sookdeo. After a second penalty-phase trial, another jury recommended Abdool be sentenced to death.  Abdool now appeals his judge-imposed death sentence, raising nine issues. The state cross-appeals an order suppressing Abdool’s confession, which the trial court found to have been obtained in violation of the Florida constitution.
