10/6/26 Florida Public Service Commission Ten-Year Site Plan Workshop
During this annual workshop, the Florida PSC reviews Florida’s electric utilities’ 10-year site plans. These plans provide a long-term look at how utilities expect to meet Florida’s future electricity needs, including projected power-generating needs, proposed power plant sites, and other system planning considerations.
The workshop also includes a presentation from the Florida Reliability Coordinating Council, Inc., on electric grid reliability and long-term system planning, and from the Florida Municipal Power Agency on lessons learned from Winter Storm Fern.
Florida law requires the FPSC to review these plans each year and determine whether they are suitable for meeting the state’s future electric needs. The Commission’s findings are provided to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for consideration in power plant and transmission line siting certification proceedings.
