10/4/23 Florida Supreme Court Oral Arguments: William F. Roberts v. State of Florida SC 2022-1176 

Roberts was sentenced to death for the 2017 murder of Elizabeth Hellstrom.  He was found to have beaten, drugged, and strangled Hellstrom, his girlfriend. This is his direct appeal, arguing multiple issues including admissibility of evidence, mitigating factors, constitutionality of the sentence, and Roberts’ competency to stand trial.
