10/15/25 Capitol Update Extended – Corrections Secretary Says Florida Prisons Need a “Staggering Amount of Money”

The Secretary of the Department of Corrections told a Senate budget committee that he needs a “staggering amount of money” to keep Florida’s prison system operating safely. He said an increasing inmate population is just one of the problems creating more violence and staff burnout.
