1/29/26 Capitol Update Extended – Senate Passes Raynor Act to Strengthen Penalties in Law Enforcement Deaths

The full Senate passed a bill that would ensure anyone convicted in the manslaughter of a law enforcement officer faces life in prison. The bill is named for Daytona Beach Police Officer Jason Raynor who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2021.
