The Florida Channel – located in Tallahassee, FL – produces 24/7, year-round coverage of all three branches of state government.  Programming includes gavel-to-gavel coverage of a wide variety of state proceedings, along with a wide variety of documentary and public affairs programs and segments covering issues of interest and importance to all Floridians.  The programming is delivered statewide by satellite and is also available on the Internet.  https://thefloridachannel.org/

Job Opening Responsibilities

Responds quickly and accurately to ensure all legislative sessions and designated meetings, programs, segments, and events are ingested, routed to modulator channels/DOE/webcasts; manages requests from News; monitors audio/video quality on incoming feeds and recordings; adds metadata to databases.

Ensure all dub requests are processed in a complete and timely manner; ingest and tag archive tapes and DVDs so they are available in a digital format; assist in the maintenance of the tape room library and annex by ensuring tapes and DVDs are shelved in an organized fashion.

Acts as a back-up to the Web team and Master Control by performing basic tasks when needed. Acts as a back-up to the Senior Media Coordinator by assuming Interplay archiving duties when necessary. 

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate degree in a related area and three years of appropriate experience or vocational/technical training with three years of appropriate experience.

Ability to work a flexible schedule. Hours may vary depending on department needs and may include weekends & evenings.

Ability to multitask, troubleshoot and carry out assignments with limited supervision.

Must be capable of learning specialized software and have an aptitude for operating electronic equipment.

Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, troubleshoot, communicate effectively, adapt to change, work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Must be organized, detail-oriented, computer literate, technologically curious and proactive.

Ability to use correct grammar and spelling.

Ability to work as part of a team in close proximity to others.

Ability to meet the physical demands of the position to include, but not be limited to, sitting for extended periods, standing, bending, reaching, dexterity, etc.

Ability to interact with co-workers and other departments in a professional manner.
