Folk music flows naturally from the cultural melting pot that is Florida. It is an evolving art form that accompanies community celebrations, religious ceremonies and everyday living. In some neighborhoods the exotic rhythms of Greek bouzouki players, Cuban bata drummers and Haitian rada percussionists immediately transport listeners to foreign villages and tribes. The sounds also crack the door open to the rich traditions that are woven into the daily lives of those who call Florida home.
